A typeface is a thousand small arguments you win quietly.

Mirei draws Latin and Japanese type at Kōbō, the foundry behind the Hanami and Ryōkan families. Her variable font for Tokyo’s subway wayfinding works at 4 point and at 4 metres. She teaches type design at Musashino and runs a zine library out of her studio.
